Who are we?

We are a Cleveland based photography duo specializing in capturing fantasy themes and cosplay. We've been creating since 2019 & have officially become the 'Pixelsmiths' in late 2023.

Photography is the primary outlet for me to express my creativity. Inspiration comes to me from many areas of my life - my love for nature, the excitement of travel, and, honestly, all things in the world of nerdiness. Video games, web comics, and anime are my primary forms of visual media, so I pull a lot of inspiration from them into my work.

My favorite games thus far, you ask?

From Nintendo Switch to PC games, in no specific order - Baldur's Gate 3, Diablo series, Far Cry series (5 & 6), House Flipper, Elden Ring, Divinity Original Sin, Stardew Valley, Hogwarts Legacy, The Last of Us, Cult of the Lamb, and so many others. I currently play Helldivers 2 during my free time. (:

Other than gaming, you can find me reading comics on webtoon, cosplaying at renaissance fairies (Great Lakes Medieval Faire, Ohio Renaissance Faire), and attending local anime/ game conventions. I also have a sweet spot for local pop up markets, walks in the park, traveling around to new places (in 2025 I took my first international trip to Japan), and eating at local restaurants & bars. My favorite Cleveland family owned restaurant is SoHo Chicken & Whiskey.

A short snippet about Shane/ I: We have been together since 2015. We are gaming partners, as well as, lifetime partners & best friends. Our sweet fur baby named Momo (a Siamese mixed cat named after the lemur from Avatar the Last Airbender) is our spoiled only child. He enjoys long naps in the sun and churu cat yogurt. I’m the more type A, serious planner (black cat energy) part of us while Shane is the type B, spontaneous and fun (golden retriever energy) part of us. I personally think we complement each other well!

I’m always interested in meeting new people and discovering their hobbies & likes. I think life is all about adventures, learning new things, and doing what you love. You can count on me to bring out my most authentic self along side you in our photography journey together.

It was a normal night like any other. Low lit ambient light filled the game room, while a cuddly cat curled up and carefully tucking his pink nose under his ringed tail, laid next to me. Painstakingly adjusting the height and depth of field in photo mode while playing Red Dead Redemption 2, trying to capture how my character felt pounding his 5th pickled egg from the saloon. Just as my badger skin hat came into focus, a voice spoke out…

“There should be a photo mode for real life.”

Eyes wide, I sprang up and ran to the curtains and threw them open. “Oh, it’s day time.” I said, through squinted eyes. As my skin sizzled and smoked from the sun light, I searched the room for the source of the voice. It was coming from upstairs… I began slowly ascending the stairs, and I could hear it. The sound of a shutter, and a flash of light can be seen through the cracks of the attic hatch. Hands shaking, I opened the hatch and began to climb up, being greeted only by silence, and darkness.

I slowly walked the room, each step making the creaky wooden floors groan and bend, when all of a sudden, I was blinded by a bright light. Stumbling around, vision lost, I fell to my knees, rubbing my eyes. Thats when I saw it, through the globular purple and blue splotched remnants of the flash, dancing in my eyes.

"A camera?" I said, curiously.

The same voice spoke out and said: “Take me, and use me to capture souls, and I will grant you power beyond your wildest dreams.”

There was only one thing to do… So here I am, just a guy with a camera given to him by some patron demon or something, who knows? Just trying to help people get captured, I mean, capture their amazing outfits and creative endeavors. I want people to be able to see themselves and the characters they make the way they do in their fantasies. Or help people feel confident and positive!

So please, let me take your picture! I have to!
